01Hiring Medallion
Working with us
What areas do you serve?
Oxnard and Ventura County. Our office is at 2362 N Oxnard Blvd #202 in Oxnard, in Town Square.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Medallion is registered with the California Department of Consumer Affairs, Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (PPO #120875), and carries $7,000,000 in general liability insurance, including assault and battery coverage.
Do you offer a free consultation?
Yes. Call, text or send a request and we’ll talk through your site, your hours and what you’re concerned about, then put together a custom security plan.
Who will I talk to when I call?
A real person with decision-making authority. We’re local and keep a homegrown level of service, so you won’t be routed through a national call center.
Will I get reports from the guards?
Yes. Our guards provide detailed reports to clients and offer proactive recommendations.
How soon can coverage start?
It depends on the post, the schedule and whether guards are armed or unarmed. Call (805) 485-5500 and we can usually answer scheduling questions on the first call.
02Guards
Guards and training
Do you provide armed and unarmed guards?
Yes. We provide uniformed armed and unarmed guards, and we’ll help you decide which fits your site during the consultation.
How are your guards trained?
Our guards are trained in asset protection and de-escalation, and every guard is First Aid and CPR certified. We also have a well-established training program that can be customized to the needs of your company.
Should I choose armed or unarmed security?
It depends on your site, what you’re protecting, your insurance and the people on the property. Many sites only need a visible, unarmed presence; some higher-risk posts call for armed guards. We’ll walk through it with you, often as part of a Security Vulnerability Assessment.
Do your guards work with the police?
Our guards report unlawful activity to facility management, take appropriate action if problems escalate, and assist local law enforcement and EMS when needed. Medallion is a private security company and is not affiliated with any law enforcement agency.

Event security
What size events do you staff?
Everything from large concerts to small gatherings. Tell us the expected attendance, the venue and the hours, and we’ll recommend a staffing plan.
Can you help us meet city and venue requirements?
Yes. We comply with all city and state requirements so the host stays in compliance with venue rules.
How far ahead should we book event security?
As early as you can, especially for large or multi-day events, so we can plan staffing with you.

Assessments and consulting
What is a Security Vulnerability Assessment?
A review of your site and how people move through it, so the guards, posts and procedures match your real risks. As part of our services we prepare one for your venue or property.
What is CPTED?
Crime prevention through environmental design: practical changes to lighting, sightlines, access points and landscaping that make a property harder to misuse. We offer CPTED and compliance consulting alongside guard services.

Pricing and contracts
How much does a security guard cost?
Rates for armed and unarmed guards are negotiated per site. Price depends on the hours, the number of guards, armed or unarmed, and what the post involves. The quickest way to a number is to build your coverage and request a quote.
Is there a minimum shift or contract length?
It depends on the post. We’ll go over minimum shifts and contract terms with you during the free consultation, before anything is scheduled.

What do I need to apply?
In California, security guards must be registered with the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (a guard card). Tell us where you are in the process when you apply.
Do you hire from the local community?
Yes. Our community-based hiring means our team is diverse and mirrors the community we serve.
Do you have armed and unarmed positions?
We provide both armed and unarmed guards. Tell us which you’re interested in when you apply.
